Having lost extended family members to the 9-11 World Trade Center attacks in 2001 and the Tsunami that hit Banda Aceh on Boxing Day 2005, Sam became acutely aware of how even minimal preparation can improve the split second decisions that save lives when a disaster strikes. Before his Digital Vision Fellowship, Sam was a venture consultant for several Silicon Valley startups, an angel investor and a corporate venture capitalist with Reuters Greenhouse, subsequently RVC. Previously, Sam was a senior correspondent with Reuters, covering Silicon Valley, London's financial markets, America's Pacific Northwest, Wall Street and Scandinavia. He earned an M,B,A, degree from Cass Business School (London), an M.Phil. in International Relations from Cambridge University and a B.A. from Harvard University. |
