Cisco Systems Linkage India Linkage India (formerly "Ganges Delta Network") will provide for better livelihood for marginalized fishermen and farmers of India through a chain of computerized entrepreneur training and development centers. Linkage will ensure success of its graduates by combining specialized training curricula with continuous montoring of its graduates and provision of online access to capital and markets. The first prototype centers will be located in the Sunderbans region of India's Ganges delta and will be used to develop content and best practices to create a replicable and franchisable model. Bio
Dipak Basu, a high-tech executive in engineering, consulting and marketing, created and led NetHope, a technology alliance of the world's largest NGOs. Dipak has served as Director of Cisco's Global Center of Expertise, and founder and CEO of a network consulting company, Informatica. As CMC Vice-President, he has setup INDONET, India’s first computer network. Earlier, Dipak worked at Verizon in software, hardware, and network planning. |
