Speaker bio:
Priscila Néri was born in Brazil and raised in New York City. In August, she was hired by CDI to run the organization’s first office in the United States, which will focus on fundraising and networking for the entire CDI Network.

Ms. Néri comes from a background in media and activism. She worked as a reporter for leading Brazilian newspaper. O Estado de S.Paulo during four years, where she covered International Affairs, Economy and Politics.

She has also worked as a freelance journalist for Reuters, Wall Street Journal Americas, Carta Capital, and others, and produced six short documentaries.
In 2005, Ms. Néri studied film and went on a six-month expedition throughout the Sertão Nordestino, poorest region in Brazil, to shoot an independent feature documentary on the lives of seven women that defy the harshness of their surroundings. That project is now in post-production.
In addition to overseeing the US operations for CDI, Ms. Néri is currently pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts in Media for Social Activism at Hunter College.
