Speaker bio:
Charly Kleissner, PhD (Technical Advisor) has over seventeen years of experience as a senior technology executive in Silicon Valley. He is currently a partner in the Acumen Fund, and serves as an advisor and a board member for multiple nonprofit and for-profit start-up companies. Charly and his wife Lisa co-founded KL Felicitas Foundation, a family foundation dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs worldwide. Until August 2001, Charly was Ariba’s Sr. VP of Product Solutions globally. Prior to Ariba, he was VP of Product Development at RightPoint, and held senior enginnering management positions at NeXT Software, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Hewlett-Packard. Charly earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science specializing in distributed databases from the University of Technology, Vienna. He authored two software patents and published numerous articles. Dr. Kleissner teaches university level courses on leadership, management and organizational development. He has developed workshops for succesful social entrepeneurs which focus on sustainabiliy and scalability of global social enterprises.
